I’m not sure if I should keep on saying Happy Blogtober Day Three because I think it’ll get repetitive too fast. So Hey, how’s your Wednesday going? Mostly I wanted to say ‘It’s October 3rd’ and a Wednesday. And I’m wearing pink. Such an iconic day, if I must say.

But today I’m also sharing my Author Thoughts for my first ever Writer Wednesday!

I meant to share this post about a week after my first book went out, but that didn’t happen.
So what better than to finally share with you all my solidified thoughts on writing my first book!

First, I want to say I am very grateful.

I don’t mean to be sappy, but I am. I didn’t think I’d have as much support as I did during my first book launch. I knew family and some friends would get it, but the outpour of love I received from getting it published was a whole new experience.

People were so wonderful with their encouraging words from the beginning and to my actual publication date. Since I am considered a self-published/indie author, marketing is done only by myself. I don’t have some big publisher with thousands of engaged readers under my belt or a whole marketing team on their payroll.

I am the writer, editor, designer, marketer, publisher. I am doing this all, myself. So, getting the support from family and friends from buying it, to encouraging me, to even just sharing it means the absolute world to me. And I have said these many times before and will keep saying it, but I am so happy, thankful and grateful for having such an amazing support group behind me.

I honestly couldn’t have seen my book launch go any better if it weren’t for all the family and friends out there supporting me through this endeavor. I am forever grateful for your kindness and support.

Sappy author thought over.

Secondly, after publishing my first work it has motivated me tremendously to keep writing.
It’s kind of like taking that first step of trying to become a full-time author. I’m here. I’m ready. I’m going to keep going at it at full force. The number one rule to being a successful writer is to KEEP WRITING.

That feeling of finally publishing a book that has been a lifelong dream of mine is one that it almost hard to say in words. But what it definitely did was make me so motivated to keep going, harder than ever. It may have taken me 6 months to write, edit and finally publish this first book.
But I assure you, it will take much less time to write the second book and the third and fourth and so on.

I’m in this for the long run. I am going to make sure that everyone gets the full spectrum of what I’m capable at with writing. Because the more I continuously write stories, the better the stories will get. It’s that simple, really.

Which brings me to my next point of my author thought, I am capable of so much more. And so is everyone else.

It’s amazing what self-publishing one book can do to your mindset. While it put me in the writing mode to write more stories and get more of my stories published, it also gave me the mindset that I am capable of doing so many other things in my life.

That means I am capable of writing a blog post consistently. I am capable of actually editing my YouTube videos. I am capable of recording a weekly podcast. I am capable of doing all these things when I set my mind to it. And publishing this book was a huge reminder of it.

I am capable of so many things in my life. I am truly not living fully as what I should be. I’ve always kept playing it safe due to fear and so many other insecurities I have. But finally publishing this book helped me get that fear right out of my mind and remind me that I can do just about anything I set my mind to.

And I’ve set my mind to being able to finally live the many dreams I’ve been dreaming about for so long and finally going out and achieving them.

And there you have it, some of my author thoughts that have popped from my mind and have really stuck with me since writing and publishing my first ever novel. One I could have only ever dreamed about.

And if you haven’t gotten a copy of my first book, you can check out where to get it all here! And who knows, there might be a new book coming out soon😉

XOXO
