South Dakota Roundup

South Dakota Roundup
I’ve been having a hard time trying to get focused and write out a blog post about my recent trip to western South Dakota. I’ve been a little work preoccupied (hopefully soon I’ll be living out more big dreams of mine!) and so I have focused my attention to that and trying to advance in my career. I’ve also been on an Insanity trip, meaning I have being doing the Insanity workouts with Shaun T and they leave me quite pooped at the end of the day. But to put it into words, I have writers block and I don’t want to just write mediocre blog posts.

Instead of trying to rack my brain and write out a semi-okay post about my super awesome South Dakota trip and not doing it the justice I want. I figured I’ll just give everyone a small preview in photos or as I’d like to call it my South Dakota Roundup.

That One Time in Amsterdam

image

Oh, Amsterdam. People have all sorts of crazy stories from Amsterdam.

Now I won’t sugarcoat anything. Amsterdam was a crazy trip.

DSC_0406

It was also a one night trip and we weren’t truly able to experience everything that Amsterdam had to offer us. So we have every intention to go back to this wonderful canal city.

DSC_0411

All the stories you have heard about Amsterdam is pretty true. There are “coffee shops” in every corner and there is a red light district with girls dancing around in the window and are quite a liberal city compared to the American conservatives.

IMG_0905

And for those that don’t know, “Coffee Shops” are different from Cafe shops in the sense of you won’t really get coffee, but weed instead. So yes, marijuana is legal in Amsterdam and people buy and smoke it freely in Amsterdam. Granted you must stay within the confinement of the Coffee shop to enjoy your Mary Jane, but for all those wanting to legally smoke a joint, you are more than welcome to sit in a coffee shop and enjoy a puff of MaryJ to your pleasing.

Now that that’s out of the bag, on the other sense Amsterdam is truly a beautiful city. We experienced some rain while we were here so there were tons of umbrellas and gray skies. Also the city center, as soon as you got off Amsterdam Centraal is quite busy with construction. But I could still see the all the beauty that Amsterdam has to offer locals and tourist alike.

DSC_0398 copyDSC_0412

It can get crowded and bicycles are everywhere so be careful of where you walk and when you walk. They are vicious bicyclers out there. And they are almost as scary as those driving in Europe.

IMG_0906

We didn’t really have a lot of time to spend in the city since our hotel was about 45 minutes away from the city town center and we were still recovering from our Paris trip and getting prepared for our next week in Italy. But from what we saw, Amsterdam is beautiful.

San Juan, Puerto Rico – My First Island Adventure

image

Remember my Eastern Caribbean Diary series video? If you don’t, check it out here!

Well it’s time to start up that Getaway. Quite a few of you may be experiencing some extreme weather that has rain, snow and gloomy days, especially for those in the East Coast with your snow blizzard. I decided to bring some island fun to brighten those days!

Welcome to the first stop on my Eastern Caribbean Getaway!

Island #1: Puerto Rico.

SAM_3650

The first island we hit was San Juan, Puerto Rico and it is a beautiful island. And it is even more gorgeous when it’s the first piece of land you see after being on a cruise ship for 3 days straight.

SAM_3613SAM_3622

The island we were docking to was San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico. We had no real agenda for this day (or any of the island days really). So with such little time in the town we opted to just explore the city near the port station, which is known as Old San Juan.

SAM_3657

As soon as we got off the ship we were smacked with humidity, hot sticky humidity. My undone hair got frizzy within a second. But that didn’t stop me from seeing the beauty that San Juan had to offer.

SAM_3649SAM_3636SAM_3637SAM_3643

Old San Juan had such beautiful Spanish architecture as well as narrow cobblestone streets and then it is also surrounded by massive defensive stone walls and forts. It is a sight to behold.

SAM_3663SAM_3666SAM_3662SAM_3670SAM_3674

Many of the fort buildings were turned into government buildings as tourism started to boom. Like the building called the La Princessa used to be a municipal jail, but it has now become Puerto Rico Tourism Company building.

SAM_3656SAM_3660 SAM_3677SAM_3675

And along the walkway of where the La Princessa stands, their Spanish markets are lined up for snacks of wonderful Puerto Rican delicacies.

SAM_3688SAM_3654SAM_3655

Lastly, we went full tourist by visiting the restaurant Señor Frog. But with such little time in Puerto Rico, it just meant for me visit it at another time with more time to actually explore and enjoy the town and go to an actual beach.

A Happy Update

So it has been quite a long time since I have updated and first and foremost, I would like to apologize to everyone for my absence.

Life has gotten the best of me and I have been extremely busy and sick and just a million other excuses that I could go on and on again.

While I want to write everyday and blog and take pictures, it can be a bit overwhelming with my schedule. So I have decided to take a small break for the Holidays (I already started that, I know). But I shall take a small break and re-organize my life.

I have every intention to keep this blog going, I have such great things I want to share with the world, but my planning and execution is not the best at the moment. So I’m going to take a small break, spend the holidays with my loved ones and then re-organize things.

And today, I had just received amazing news at my current job, I have officially been offered a permanent staff position! YAY! And with that being said, that means more responsibility and a busier schedule, but that won’t stop me with traveling, writing, photography, videotaping, etc.

This blog is still in its early runs, but I will do my best and hope to make it grow into something beautiful and something I love to do. Travel is still my passion and so is writing, so I will forever keep doing this.

As for now, I will enjoy my holidays and I hope you enjoy yours too. I may post something once or twice within my little break, but most of the time I will be planning for a better execution for this website.

Have a happy holidays, Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year. I hope you all have wonderful holidays and share it with loved ones. Take a break, enjoy life and make the last days of 2014 count.

As for this post, I will share some beautiful photos of the moon I took earlier this week. I like to appreciate little things like this and hope to capture it and share it with the world. Hope you enjoy!

Happy holidays, keep reaching for that moon and travel on my travelers.

From Europe to California – How I’m going to fill the void

image

Hello my travelers! I am back in California and terribly missing Europe. I have left some of my heart in Europe and it hurts. But a way to fill the void (I know that was extremely cheesy) is by the next few weeks I will be posting glorious amounts of posts with stories, videos, and photos of my first European trip.

londonlwy2

I had been dreaming of going to Europe my entire life and I am so happy to have experienced 2 whole weeks of it with my boyfriend by my side and of course all my family and friends in Europe. So with that being said, the best way for me to write about my first European experience (believe me, this is not my last) is best if I split everything up into little posts throughout the next few weeks.

So keep checking out my blog every week. I’ll for sure be posting my Europe content every Tuesday and Thursday. Come check out how I experienced this beautiful continent.

As for now, here are some photos from every city I visited. I can’t wait to relive the experiences I had with all of you.

Paris and London – My first European Trip

Paris

Bonjour from Paris!

I know I haven’t really updated since I left the States to go on my European trek, but when you have limited Wifi you can only do so much. But my Wifi has finally worked here in the hotel and I decided to update you all on my time here in the beautiful Europe!

For more up to date info check out my instagram and twitter!!!

My first day in Europe was in London and it was a short trip until we come back for two days for our flight home on our last leg of our vacation. We were able to master the tubes and trains just fine and not get so lost that it became frightening. And even though it was a short trip, we were able to see the Tower Bridge and then get some Fish N’ Chips and everything was great.

Tower Bridge

The Tower Bridge, beautiful.

Best meal in London.

After London, the next day we needed to catch a bullet train on the Eurostar to Paris at the St. Pancras International railway Stations and the station itself was just beautiful!

St. Pancras

Every building in London were HUGE!

And since we had some time on our hands, the Harry Potter Geek in me had to check out Platform 9 3/4 at the Kings Cross Stations just across the street from St. Pancras.

Just on my way to Hogwarts as a Gryffindor.

Overall, London was amazing and I can’t wait to explore the city more next week. I’ll give you more details in later posts of my first day in London.

As for Paris, we are still here and it has already captured my heart. I am loving the city more and more and it makes me not want to leave.

Alex and I celebrated our one year anniversary today and it was an amazing way to celebrate in this beautiful city. We went to the top of the Eiffel tower and saw the Louvre and wrote our love on the Love Lock bridge (unfortunately we forgot our locks and most of the locks are now boarded up). But it was an amazing day, I wish we didn’t have to leave tomorrow. But it’s time for Amsterdam and then Italy! I am excited for what the rest of our trip has for us.

I’ll post more details on Paris and London later, but for now here’s some beautiful photos to pass you over!

Theme Parkaholics

DCA

These posts are simple, it’s about theme parks. I simply love going to theme parks. I’m an adventure seeker and roller coasters, expensive food, and scary mazes help fill some void in my life.

I currently hold annual passes for Disneyland/California Adventure, Universal Studios Hollywood and Knotts Berry Farm/ Knotts Soak City. So at least once every month I’ll feature a theme park, ride or food found in a theme park and maybe even a tip or two and blog about it. I’ll post awesome pictures and some videos and show you how fun theme parks can be. I’ll probably even include zoos and fairs and things of the like.

I hope all you travelers enjoy my Theme Parkaholics posts because I know we’ve all been to a theme park at least once in our lives and whether you bring your children there now or still run around in a theme park with the child within you, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy this.
