I’ve just remembered that I have been on this internet social media space for over 10 years. Add even more if you want to include when I had Xanga, Quizilla, Myspace, etc. But my first ever blog post on this particular blog was posted on April 2, 2014.

I was in my early 20s, I wanted to do travel blogging and vlogging because I was a Broadcast Journalism major and loved taking on video. And I was so hype to start my own blog and write and just share my experiences, especially when I started to travel a lot.
Flash to now, 2025 and I’m still somehow floating in this space. I’ve kept my blog, but it hasn’t seen any love in many years as TikTok emerged back in 2020, at least that’s when I started it. I grew a very small booktok and journaltok following on TikTok and for once I finally felt like I had a community where I got to just talk in front of a camera and hit post right away. It’s been great.
But as I’ve been trying to reel it back in, I’ve always had a spot for this blog which is why I’ve kept it up and running for over 10 years. I love the idea of still having something that I own and can share my own opinions and thoughts and whatever the hell else I want without the repercussions of something like an app getting shut down out of the blue or whatever else.
Which is why I’m going to officially get back on here. I KNOW, my last two posts were about me getting back on here and then failing at that. But I decided to pick myself back up from failing and moving forward.
I want to share a part of my life, my hobbies and so much more on this little piece of the internet space I have. And I want to get back onto YouTube and share long form content on there because I do love editing videos and making travel vlogs and your girl still does the occasional traveling so I want to share that.
It’s not to say that I won’t post back on TikTok, I do have a very specific niche on there with talking about books and journaling and planning, but on here I can talk about anything. I think that’s why I named it Lost with Yvonne because it’s about getting lost in the things I love and hope others enjoy the unfamiliar, whether it’s something new they’re learning or seeing a new place in someone else’s eyes.
I just want the freedom to write again. I can talk and talk and talk for hours which will help with creating video content. But to sit down and write a blog post, man that’s something else.
I’ve been journaling a lot lately as I have landed myself into journal tiktok and recently have fallen into the hole of leather journals and journal ecosystems, which I will be talking about on this blog at some point. But with writing my thoughts and feelings and ideas down on paper, it’s made me want to get my thoughts and ideas out back onto my blog and share it. Because sometimes it can be a little different when it’s written down and someone reads it versus me talking too fast in a video.
So here I go again, back onto my blogging journey. It’s going to have a lot of me written in these blog posts as I get my ass back into gear and blog again, but I promise this journey will be a fun one. So, follow along my Lost with Yvonne journey back into blogging and let’s all enjoy the unfamiliar. Whether that means learning some new crafts, finding some new book recommendations, or seeing a video of me playing with some otters which will then lead you to want to donate to the otter fund, I hope it helps you get out of your head and stop and enjoy the unfamiliar life we live in. It’s a hard and harsh world right now and I hope this little space of the internet that I’ve created will give you a little bit of fun, light, crafts and adventures to go on in your world.
Thank you, my dear readers. If you’ve been here before, or not. We’ll talk again soon.
XOXO
